Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran applauds President Obama for declaring April as National Financial Capability Month.
In a proclamation signed March 31, President Obama wrote, “In today's economy, financial capability is essential for some of life's biggest transitions -- paying for college, buying a home, saving for retirement. A solid understanding of the marketplace makes it easier to avoid scams, spot misleading information, and decipher complex paperwork.”
President Obama is calling upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices.
“Having the financial knowledge and skills to make smart financial choices in life is so important to the overall financial health of American families,” says Moran. “We are grateful for our President’s support of this financial literacy initiative.”
