National Financial Literacy Month kicks-off April 2, and credit unions have the opportunity to participate in a “Financial Fitness Day” fundraiser. This initiative will raise funds for the National Credit Union Foundation and the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation. The Cornerstone Foundation is asking credit unions in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas to notify them if they plan to participate, as the Cornerstone Foundation wants to track and promote those credit unions.
Financial Fitness Day is an opportunity to bring awareness to the importance of having the knowledge and skills to make sound financial decisions. To participate, credit unions can hold either a jeans/casual day for staff; a bake sale, “donate a buck” day, and/or come up with their own creative idea to celebrate Financial Fitness Day.
If your credit union is participating, please notify Cornerstone CU Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran. If you have any questions, please contact the Foundation, at (800) 953-8283.
