The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation (Foundation) announced that they have received a generous grant from the National Credit Union Foundation to continue their Biz Kid$ Teacher Training and Entrepreneur Contest. Participating teachers, with the help of a credit union partner, will implement the Biz Kid$ curriculum in their classrooms, and students will collaboratively create a business plan for a needed organization in their community, thus incorporating the entrepreneurship skills learned through Biz Kid$.
Does this opportunity peak your credit union’s interest?
If so, please join the Foundation for an informational webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 2:00–3:00 pm. Register now.
This is the second year for the contest; last year was the pilot phase, which was generously supported by NCUF.
"The Cornerstone Foundation is committed to empowering our credit unions, educators, and community partners with the tools, resources, and information needed to educate our young people on personal finance," says Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran. "We will leverage these grant dollars effectively and efficiently so that we can expand the BizKid$ initiative, but more importantly help inspire young people to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit."
Biz Kid$ is the credit union funded public television series that teaches kids about money management and entrepreneurship. The Foundation has been a supporter of BizKid$ since its inception. In fact, the Foundation supported the production of seasons 1-5. Additionally, Moran serves on the BizKid$ National Advisory Committee.
