The Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation’s Grants Committee has just approved 41 grants totaling more than $88,000 to support credit unions, and credit union chapters, in their community outreach endeavors, as well as their financial literacy initiatives, and professional development of staff and volunteers.

“We are so thankful for credit unions continued support of the Foundation,” notes Staci Zale, CUDE, associate director and grants manager for the Foundation. “By awarding these grants, we are simply paying it forward.”

According to Zale, 21 of the grants awarded were for professional development; 16 were community outreach grants to support activities such as Junior Achievement and Financial Fitness of Greater Austin and Financial Fitness of Greater Dallas. Four credit union Chapters also received grants, and these grants helped the chapters host reality fairs, as well as bring top-notch speakers to their chapter meetings. The Foundation is once again collaborating with the Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Greater Dallas to host 100 financial education webinars in April for National Financial Literacy Month.
