The Community Investment Fund (CIF) Development Grant Fund gives credit unions a valuable opportunity to advance and enhance their efforts, and in return serve their members and the community more effectively. The CIF Grants Committee recently met, approving 27 grants totaling $76,450.
Among the grants awarded, some credit unions are applying their assistance toward costs associated with purchasing or implementing branch office and security equipment, planning sessions, branch capture, system conversions and upgrades, EMV card conversions, and various audits. The committee also awarded a generous grant to the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Small Credit Union Committee to assist with Small Credit Union workshops and the Small Credit Union Conference, as well as the Young Professional Advisors to assist with the outreach and development of young professionals in the Cornerstone region.
Texhillco School Employees FCU received assistance for new computer equipment and a new server.
Mark Bigott, manager of Texhillco School Employees FCU said, “Our members clearly state that one of main reasons they 'bank' with us is the high level of trust; we spend what little we 'net' on services and protections.”
Bigott continues, “We have completed our installation of new devices and are now provided with a new high level IT security, 24/7 traffic monitoring, state-of-the-art devices, dual firewalls, dual back-up, and access to 24/7 IT professionals. Having a CUSO provide these services also gives us access to new and upcoming services as well as alerts to new challenges from a user standpoint.”
